Favourite Place in the world
This is a wonderful Island in the Maldives called Lily Beach Resort and Spa at Huvahendhoo in the Ari Atoll. A destination to go to and to die for!!
Where in the world would you most like to visit that you haven't already?
Japan and deepest South America. Two places where culturally things should be markedly different to other locations. I’d like to wake up in the morning in a place which doesn’t look or feel the same as the vast majority of places in the world today.
Photography is a new interest and one which I really enjoy.
Woodwork – particularly making toys.
Crafting – experimenting with different materials and combining their use with my woodworking.
Baking – I make a mean Victoria Sponge and am pretty good at Choc Chip Cookies as well (the bigger the better).
If you could invite any three people to dinner, past or present, who would they be?
Winston Churchill – a political hero during WW2 but not such a good politician outside of war. I’m keen to understand how he prioritised things and what he thinks about work life balance!!
J F Kennedy – a name remembered because of Dallas but he was such an interesting guy. Medical problems; rumours about his affairs; his handling of the Cuban missile crisis. What would he change if he were alive today?
Mao Zedong – he created the People’s Republic by revolution, yet the party has perhaps become what it sought to defeat – greed, privilege and inequality. How does the current population’s desire for change and human rights and its denial, square against the modern world?
What is your dream occupation & why?
I always wanted to be a world famous actor darling! I was accepted to a drama school but for a teacher training place. I turned it down because I wanted to do, not teach. I still long for the stage – but I guess consultancy offers some similarities!!
Favourite Ice Cream Flavour
Pistachio – wonderful, exciting, colourful and nutty!
