Favourite Place in the world

Crystal Cove - Koh Samui

Thailand, the land of smiles, offers a laidback, island lifestyle with idyllic beaches, glorious weather, exquisite cuisine and friendly locals but also has a wild side that is often negatively portrayed and misunderstood. From the bustling heart of Bangkok, to the open green and unspoilt north, to the pristine beaches of the islands to the west and south of the peninsula, Thailand has it all and should be on everyone’s list of places visit before they die!

What is number 1 on your bucket list?:

To get to ride Valentino Rossi’s Yamaha M1 around Mugello and hit 215 mph down the straight without any fear. The likelihood of this ever happening is zero but one can certainly dream!

About Ben

My three greatest passions are music, motorsport and food. I indulge my love of music through regular DJ gigs at some of Jersey’s best bars and nightclubs.

Biggest Role Model:

Valentino Rossi. The nine-time world champion of premier class motorcycling, he still shows as much drive, passion and determination to win as riders’ half his age. He loves what he does and it shows. He is a true ambassador of the sport and a global icon, yet he somehow remains grounded. A true legend!

If you could invite any three people to dinner, past or present, who would they be?

Jim Morrison – a poet, singer, songwriter, author and intellectual who lived his life to the full, although self-indulgence would ultimately lead to his untimely death at just 27 years of age. I’d like to ask him what motivated and inspired him and his lyrics and why he felt the need to go to such extremes when he had so much obvious talent.

Billy Connolly – the master of observational comedy and - in my eyes - an absolute genius and a living legend. His stories alone are enough to reduce anyone with a sense of humour to tears of laughter!

Ayrton Senna – the most naturally talented, tenacious and inspiring F1 driver I have ever seen in my lifetime. After watching the Senna documentary I’d like to understand what compelled him to push to the absolute limit - and beyond - and what he thinks of the current state of F1 with all its rules, regulations, pomp and ceremony.

What is your dream occupation, and why?

Professional Motor Bike Racer. Although not owning my own motorbike for many years, bikes have and will always be my biggest passion and watching riders race at over 200mph at lean angles of 60 degrees plus on the world’s best race tracks all over the world with thousands watching live and millions watching at home is simply awe-inspiring.
