Favourite Place in the world
I have been fortunate enough to visit some amazing places around the world and travelling is one of my passions, but when the sun shines and I can get out either walking on the cliff paths or on my bike then I can’t think of anywhere else I would rather be. We’re so lucky to have some simply stunning landscapes that never fail to amaze.
What is your favourite ice cream flavour?
Chocolate, unless it’s a Whippy Ice Cream – then it must be vanilla complete with flake.
A Travel Writer, because then I can get to travel to all the places I have always wanted to go and get paid to do so.
"IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING"
The Adidas Slogan, but actually taken from a Muhammad Ali quote:
“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men, who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given, than to explore the power they have to change it.
Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing."
What is No.1 on your bucket list?
A visit to Antarctica, the highest, driest, windiest, emptiest, coldest place on earth.
A chance to experience something I consider otherworldly and gain some understanding of how animals have adapted to the environment, and how humans are adapting to it.
The continent is roughly 14 million square kilometres (5.4 million square miles), and ice covers approx. 97.6% of this. Comparatively the USA is only 9.36 million square kilometres (3.6 million square miles). At its thickest point the ice sheet is 4,776 meters deep and averages 2, 160 meters thick. This is 90 percent of the entire world's ice and it is 70 percent of the entire world's fresh water.
If you could invite any three people to dinner, who would they be?
Having spent some time in South Africa working with a charity around Cape Town I would invite Nelson Mandela. A man with drive, determination and intelligence, how would he describe South Africa now and what would he see as the biggest challenges today?
Conn Iggulden, a British author who has written two series of historical fiction books, one series around the life of Julius Caesar and one series around the Mongolian Khan empire. Both fascinating historical / fiction accounts of two of the greatest empires in history.
To lighten the mood Dawn French, in my opinion one of the funniest ladies ever. I could watch reruns of The Vicar of Dibley endlessly.
