A leading corporate services company wanted a delivery-focused project management partner who could support them over a six-month period. The project was to replace all of the local infrastructure, that included two data centres, configuration changes to the network, a brand new software desktop roll out and moving the client to a new Citrix environment.
Our first task was to put together a high level scope statement which was broken down into two phases. The first phase was to set up the project and the governance needed to manage the boundaries. We did some detailed planning by putting together project plans, understanding budgets and the resources required. We did a stakeholder analysis to see who would need to be involved in the project and then moved to the delivery phase. When that was agreed we acted as project manager managing ongoing risks, reporting those up to the project board and making sure the project documentation was completed. As part of the project we did a lot of supply management for the technical suppliers who put the new infrastructure in place. Our final task was to produce a project closure report that was handed over to business as usual.
The client benefitted from implementation of a new infrastructure and desktop environment that formed the basis for new application technology.
